AP Physics 1

AP Physics is an introductory college level course. Students use a college textbook and study topics including kinematics, sound, waves, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, geometrical and physical optics, and atomic and nuclear physics. Students perform lab experiments, compose scientific articles, deliver presentations and lead Socratic seminars. Students are required to register for and take the AP Exam in May. A $120 fee per exam will be collected during exam registration.

Physics

Students engage in exploration of the general concepts of physics. In this introductory course, the main emphasis is on the conceptual aspects of physics in both the lecture and laboratory sections of the class. Critical thinking skills are learned through projects and investigative experience. Extensive reading and study are required.
